Letter from Rabbi Itzek Ben Rabbi Leib Segal. 1763. Written in Yiddish-German. The letter was in a book found in the kloiz of the wealthy Rabbi Leib Ben Rabbi Shaul.
Most probably, the writer and the signatory is Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Ben Rabbi Leib Kloisner, who served as Dayan in Altoona. A letter he wrote with a halachic ruling, 1769, was printed in the book "Beit Evel U-Beit Mishte" (Altoona 1769), together with rulings of Rabbi David Berlin (brother of Rabbi Yesha'aya Berlin Pik) and of Dayan Rabbi Leib Paperasha. (This letter of response was copied by Rabbi Chaim Palagi in his book "Chaim Beyad", chapter 108).
18.5 cm. Fair condition, glue signs, text somewhat cropped on the left.
