The decision to establish" Kupat Po'aley Eretz Israel" was taken in 1909, during the second convention of the world alliance of" Po'aley Zion". The idea to establish the fund was raised by Rchel Yanait Ben Zvi. In fact the fund was established in 1912 and acted, under David Bloch as director, to encourage Jewish workers to work within cooperatives by supporting financially various cooperatives and encouraging the members to study. The fund also supported socialist papers and literature, established sanatoriums for workers, etc. In 1925 the fund was transferred to the "Histadrut HaOvdim HaKlalit" and became a subsidiary company of "Chevrat HaOvdim". 70X90 cm.
