"Kol HaTor", anthology of poems by Moshe Leib Khashkes (1830-1906), poet, playwright and satirist, born in Lithuania.
On the inner side of front cover, appear a dedication and a short poem handwritten by the author, in honor of the Russian-Jewish businessman, banker and philanthropist, Baron Horace Günzburg: "Throughout the world, the name Günzburg is known, father to the lost, healer to the sick, a sight for the poor, a herd for the widow, and in the hall of 'charity', his oath is taken, to that man I will offer my book, my gift, hoping that he will witness my poverty, and come to my aid." 136 pp, 16.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and creases. Tears to cover. Cover and spine fastened with brown paper. Ex-library copy. Inscription in pencil and pen (by the author?).
