Stern, Yitzchak [ed]. Kochvei Yitzchak. Vienna, 1845-1873.
Complete set of thirty seven issues in six volumes. The periodicals include poems, poetic phrases, prose, translations (mainly from German), studies, and transcriptions of manuscripts, etc; amongst the writers: Shmuel David Luzato, Rachel Morfurgo, Elazar Ben Yehuda of Worms, and others. The editor, Mendel Stern (1811-1873) worked as a proofreader in Anton Schmidt's printing press and later as the head of the Hebrew department. "Kochvei Yitzchak" and the anthology "Bikurei HaItim" that Stern tried to renew were amongst the leading publications of Hebrew literature in Europe. The last issue, no. 37, was published and edited, after an intermission of four years following Stern's passing, by Mordechai Weisman Hayot. The issues were published once a year; during the years 1846-1847 four booklets were published yearly. The first booklet in this set is from the second edition. Six volumes, 17.5-19 cm. Condition varies, in general good condition. From the collection of Dr. Israel Mehlman.
