Ceramic jug painted and glazed, made by the ceramic artist Hava Samuel (1904-1989). Signed on base: 1/2 and a stamp "[Rishon] LeZion". Hava Samuel, "pioneer of Israeli ceramic" was born in Essen, Germany, where she studied at first painting and graphics and later pottery and sculpting, including ceramic technology. Made Aliya in 1932 and opened in Jerusalem a studio for ceramics. In 1934 moved to Rishon LeZion and established a workshop "Kud VePessel". This workshop was active until 1978. During all her years in Israel Hava Samuel created pottery, small sculptures, architectural ceramic, paintings and graphics. Height: 19 cm. Fair condition. Broken handle, missing.
