Nineteen black and white photographs documenting the Jewish Legion in Eretz Israel and in Cairo during World War I and afterwards, by Ya'akov Ben-Dov, [ca.1915- 1920].
All of the photographs are attached to paper leaves decorated with printed shapes of Magen David and pasted "Zion" stamps, most of them are annotated by hand (at a later date): handing of a Torah and a flag to the legion, prayer in the legion, office of the Jewish Legion in Jerusalem, the Legion's kitchen and cooks, the Legion in Haifa, guarding on the Kishon, graves of the Legion's casualties on Mount Scopus, burial ceremony of a Legion's soldier, the Legion's camp on Mount Scopus, reception in honor of the Legion in Zrifin, the Legion in Cairo, the medical staff of the Legion, the Legion's choir (annotated in the plate). Size varies, 5.5X8.5 cm. to 14.5X20.5 cm. General condition - good. A folding-mark and creases to the photograph of the choir.
