Lengthy letter (2 pages) handwritten and signed by R. "Yosef Aryeh Nenedik". Kobryn, Elul 1932.
This particularly interesting letter is addressed to his colleague R. Yitzchak Turetz in Kamenitz and opens with blessings for a good year.
R. Turetz, who was serving at the time as lecturer in the Kamenitz yeshiva (under his father-in-law R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz), was considering leaving Kamenitz to establish his own yeshiva, and had consulted with R. Nenedik regarding the advisability of this move. In this letter, R. Nenedik analyses the various aspects of the question with great insight and wisdom, offering him advice and encouragement.
R. Yosef Aryeh Leib Nenedik (ca. 1875-1943, murdered in the Kovno ghetto), a prominent Lithuanian mussar leader. Served as mashgiach in the yeshiva of the Chafetz Chaim in Radin, and founded the Grodno and later the Ponovezh yeshivot together with R. Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman.
