Interesting Letter from Rabbi Moshe Blau – Summer 1923 – Regarding Rabbi Ben Tzion Yadler's Participation in the Thirteenth Zionist Congress in Carlsbad
Opening: $300
Unsold
Letter handwritten and signed by R. Moshe Blau leader of Agudath Israel in Jerusalem. Bad Reichenhall, 23rd Av [1923].
Written during R. Moshe Blau's trip at the head of the Jerusalem delegation to the first Knessiah Gedolah of Agudath Israel, which took place in Vienna. In this letter, presumably addressed to Central Agudath Israel in Jerusalem, R. Moshe informs them that R. Ben Tzion Yadler travelled to Carlsbad to attend the 13th Zionist Congress, at the initiative of R. Rubin (head of the Jerusalem Beit Din), and promises to explain their motives in a future letter.
R. Ben Tzion Yadler describes this trip in his memoirs, relating that he was sent to the Zionist Congress to try to alert the innocent delegates and participants of the destruction wrought by Zionists to Torah observance in Eretz Israel.
[1] leaf. 14X9.5 cm. Fair condition. Dark stains (dampstains), tears and wear, affecting text. Filing holes.
