Illustrated "Shana Tovah" greeting card. Printer and year not indicated [Vilnius?, ca. 1920s-1930s].
At the center of the card, above an illustration of a Palestinian view, a rhymed Hebrew greeting was printed: "For a Year of Joy and Happiness and Pleasure and Redemption to Our Poor People…". On the margins of the card, an art nouveau-style gilt frame, entwined with a Star of David encircling the Hebrew word "Zion", the inscriptions "Nes Tziyona" and "LeShana Tovah" and the Hebrew prayer "May our eyes behold Your return to Zion in mercy".
The card is stamped on verso with a stamp of the "Society for History and Ethnography in Vilnius in memory of S. An-ski".
[1] leaf, folded in half (printed on one side), 14X20 cm. Good condition. Minor creases and a horizontal fold line. Several stains (mostly on verso).
