Palestine 1947, photo-album with photographs depicting the development of Palestine, towns and villages - souvenir from the Jewish Agency. Unknown photographer, 1947. Serbo-Croatian.
Album containing 27 black and white professional photographs depicting the development of Palestine. The album opens with a handwritten introduction; photographs are also titled by hand (Serbo-Croatian).
Among the photographs: an illegal immigrant prior to her deportation, detainees in Atlit internment camp, packagers of oranges in "Mikveh Israel", unloading boxes in Tel-Aviv port, Naharayim, installing a water pipe in the Negev, laying pipes in tunnels to dry swamps, brigade soldiers training on the beach, Dizengoff square in Tel-Aviv, and more.
Size varies, approx. 19X18 cm to approx. 21.5X16 cm (some photographs are slightly smaller or larger). Good overall condition. Some photographs are detached (pasting marks and glue remnants on the back). Some of the album's leaves are cut and wrongly placed. Inscriptions and comments in pencil. Album: 26X30.5 cm. Good condition. Slight defects. Original leather binding.
