A Headdress and a Coat – Attire of a Yemenite Woman

1. Woman's headdress. Yemen, [first half of 20th century].
Silver adornments, filigree, gilded; gilded silver coins; fabric; gems; various ornamentation.
The reverse side is adorned with three rows of gilded silver coins - "Maria Theresa thaler"; the side of the coin has the two-headed imperial eagle facing outward, as is customary in Yemenite items of clothing from that time. The upper part is adorned with gilded silver filigree ornamentation, set with gems. On both sides of the covering are gilded filigree adornments shaped like baskets, set with gems. Height; 60 cm.
2. Woman's coat. Yemen, [first half of 20th century].
Fabric; embroidery.
Long coat, pink velour collar. Decorated with silver-colored strips and embroidery. Height: 140 cm.
