Hanukkah lamp. [Morocco, first half of the 20th century].
Cut, pierced and embossed copper sheet; chiseling.
Hanukkah lamp that was also used as a "mizrah". At the center of the back plate are a seven-branched menorah, a shofar and an incense shovel. Engraved at the center of the menorah is the inscription "mizrah" and above it, in Hebrew, "These Lights are Sacred". Two Stars of David inside flowers appear to the left and right of the menorah. At the top of the plate is a pair of birds. The side plates and the side margins of the back plate are decorated with pierced triangles and other geometric patterns. The base of the lamp and its back leg are also decorated with vegetal and geometric motifs. The eight oil fonts and the shamash, whose bottom part is also decorated, are attached to designated slots by means of bent bulges. Suspension loop.
