Six programs of "Habima" Theater on a tour in the US and Europe, [ca.1926]. Yiddish and French.
* Moskver teater habima", five programs for: "Hadibuk", "Der golem", "Hamabul", "Hayehudi Hanitzchi" and "Yakov's Khalom". * Program of Théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris for the play "Halom Y'akov" (French). The program contains photos and a short essay about "Habima" theater by Maxim Gorky.
"Habima" theater was founded in Vilnius in 1914 by Nahum Zemach but closed down for financial difficulties. Zemach re-opened the theater in 1917 in Moscow, together with Menachem Gnessin and Hanna Rovina, and the Russian director and teacher Konstantin Stansilavsky. In 1926, when Anti-Semitism in Russia increased and artistic creation was restricted by the Communist party, the theater went on a tour to Europe and the USA. In 1928 the theater moved to Eretz Israel.
