Woman's cap. [Germany, 19th century].
Silk and metal threads, cotton, silk, metal discs and silk ribbons.
The back part of the cap is decorated in floral patterns embroidered with silvered metal threads of different kinds, combined with minute metal discs (sequins) and small metal beads. A long decorative silk ribbon tied in a "butterfly bow" and two cotton ribbons for fastening the cap are sewn onto the bottom of the back side.
Approx. 15X15 cm. Good condition. Some stains and wear.
