Eliezer Yerushalmi (1900-1962) – teacher and school headmaster in Shavli Ghetto; in 1944 fled from the ghetto and joined the Red Army. After the war, served as headmaster of a Jewish school in Vilnius. Later on left for Poland and from there to Italy where he managed the culture department for refugees during the years 1945-48. Composed several books with important information about life in the Shavli Ghetto (for more information see the attached material). Presented here are several manuscripts and typewritten compositions: handwritten notebook "di geshikhte fun Shavler geto un fun zefon Lita bekitzur". 60 pp. * A play – the story takes place during the holocaust. Thirteen copies (copies of typewritten leaves). 12 pp. each. * "Profesor shuster", tragedy in four acts. 34 handwritten leaves + 34 typewritten leaves + 17 handwritten leaves (possibly a first, incomplete, draft). * "Man iz im mekane di dira, a novele fun plitim in italye", novel about refuggees' lives in Italy.
