Children's book by Peretz Markish. Illustrated by joseph Tchaikov. On the front cover appears an illustration in color in a unique typographic design. Within the booklet there are 25 additional illustrations in b/w. 30 cm. General condition-Good. Front cover includes the complete illustration and title but margin are missing (a square 18.5X23 cm). Back cover (originally with no illustrations) is missing. Ink-stamp on title-page. Right margin of the first and last leaves are professionally restored. In a new cardboard binding.
Joseph Tchaikov (1888-1986) - sculptor, painter, graphic artist, teacher and theoretician. Studied in Paris between 1910-1913, started exhibiting from 1912. Was active member in groups and associations of Jewish artists. He was among the founders of "Kultur-Lige" in Kiev. Taught sculpture in Vkhutemas and in Vkhutein between 1923-1930.
