Decorated manuscript. A few pages illustrated with "rugs" with floral motifs and imaginary creatures. Several illustrations and decorations at the beginnin of sections. Two full-page amulets (on pp. 43a and 53a), with an illustration of Lilith, Holy Names, verses and hashbaot. On p. 53b is a Hamsa, with a Star of David in its center.
Colophon on p. 40a by "Chaim son of R. Barzul"; on p. 101a, 101b, 104b, and 109b by Mordechai, son of Barzilai of Urmia.
Ownership inscriptions on first page: "Moshe son of R. Shmuel Mizrachi", "Chaim son of R. Barzilai Mizrachi". Signatures and stamps of R. "Moshe son of R. Refael Or Shraga…" (a descendant of Mullah Or Shraga of Yazd; see: Kedem Catalogue, Auction 70, Lot 284).
The manuscript contains: Midrashim on Megillat Eichah, on the Ten Commandments, on Parashat Vayigash; songs and piyyutim; Midrash KeTapuach on the ascent of Moshe to heaven; prayers to recite by gravesites; the story of Joseph in Judeo-Persian; Goralot and zodiacs; a work on the "error of the Christians", with comparisons between the Bible and the New Testament and various rebuttals to Christian claims; Segulot and cures.
[124] leaves. 17.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains, including dampstains. Tears and wear. Damage to text in a few places. Damaged binding.
