Ketubah recording the marriage of the groom, Mordecai ben Ya'akov, and the bride, Avigail bat Yitzhak. Herat, Afghanistan, Tevet 5628 [1868].
At the top of the ketubah are five gates, three of them with illustrations of flower bushes and the other two with blessings and verses. At the bottom are five medallions with the witnesses' signatures.
47.5X55 cm. Fair condition. Stains, tears, wear and creases. Folding marks. Ink traces (due to the ketubah having been folded).
