Yad Yosef, homiletics on the Torah portions and for various occasions, by R. Yosef Tzarfati. Venice: Giovanni Cajon, [1616-1617]. First edition.
The book was reprinted in Amsterdam 1700-1701, and was accepted by subsequent generations. It is quoted extensively in homiletic and Chassidic works, in particular by the Pri Megadim who greatly cherished it.
The present copy contains many dozens of glosses in Italian script, some lengthy, by an unidentified writer. The writer expands upon the words of the author, on many occasions when the latter wrote briefly or obscurely, and adds his own novellae to the words of the author.
