Two Esther scrolls from North Africa:
· Esther scroll. [North Africa, early 19th century].
Written on dark gevil and rolled on a wooden roller. 22 lines per column.
Height of gevil: 17.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Wear and several tears. Lacking bottom part of wooden roller.
· Esther scroll. [North Africa, second half of the 19th century].
Written on thin parchment (apparently goatskin). Approximately 14 lines per column. Rolled on a wooden roller.
Height of parchment: 7.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains. Tears, affecting text in several places. The first membrane was replaced with another written in a later script. Break to wooden roller.
