Two medals that were struck to commemorate the establishment of the Moshava (colony) Rishon Le'Zion, 5642 [1882].?1. Obverse: In the center is a view of Rishon Le'Zion and the Hebrew year: "5642" (1882), surrounded by the Hebrew verse "I first have declared it to Zion, and I give to Jerusalem a herald of good tidings" (Isaiah 41: 27), after which Rishon Le'Zion is named, and "Rishon LeZion Colony" (Hebrew). Reverse: In the center, inside a frame in the shape of the Tablets of the Law, are figures praying at the Western Wall and the figure of a farmer sowing a field. Above the figures are a Star of David and the Hebrew legend "O that deliverance for Israel would come out of Zion", surrounded by the Hebrew verse "If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill".?Diameter: 25 mm.
