Torat HaBayit [abridged], by Rabbi Shlomo ben Aderet - the Rashba. [Cremona, 1565. Printed by Vincenzo Conti]. First edition.
Ownership inscriptions and stamps of the ancient Beit Midrash "Sha'arei Zion" in Jerusalem. Handwritten glosses. One long gloss in Oriental handwriting and four long glosses in Ashkenazi-Rashi handwriting, one signed "HaAviv". These glosses are in the characteristic handwriting of Rabbi Eliezer Bergman (1799-1852), a head of the German immigrant population in Jerusalem and friend of Rabbi Yehosef Shwartz, author of Tevu'ot Ha'Aretz. Studied in German yeshivas, headed by Rabbi Wolf Hamburg and Rabbi Avraham Bing. He was accustomed to signing "HaAviv" [Eliezer son of Yosef Binyamin]. A few of his novellae and articles were printed in the books Shearei Aviv (Bnei Brak, 1969) and Behar Yera'eh (Jerusalem, 1975).
Lacking copy, with title page and other leaves replaced with handwritten copies. [4 handwritten leaves], 5-72 leaves (originally: 72 leaves). 21 cm. Fair condition. Much wear and stains. Detached leaves. Unbound.
