Parchment amulet and two paper amulets in a beaded pouch. [Eretz Israel], 1944.
Leather pouch; beads sewn on linen; ink; parchment.
1. Folded vellum amulet, for success and removal of evil eye from Nissim Naji ben Katoun. Appearing on the amulet are acronyms of verses, acronym of "Ana BeKo'ach", names of angels, verses from Psalms, scheme with different combinations of the word "Zalach", and more.
14.5X11.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Folding marks. Stains.
2. Printed paper amulet for "protection, written by […] R' Yehudah Moshe Fatiyah", with acronyms of verses for protection and the verse "VaYehi BiNeso'a HaAron".
14.5X12 cm. Good condition. Stains. Creases. Unevenly cut edges.
3. Piece of paper with the Parashot of "Keriat Shema" inscribed in Sephardic scribal writing.
5.5X5 cm. Good condition. Creases. Slight tears. Stains.
The amulets are folded and inserted in a fabric pouch (torn), inserted in turn in a small pouch entirely covered with a colorful beads embroidery in floral and geometric patterns. On top appears the year, 1944.
Pouch: 6.5X8 cm. Good condition. Unraveling. Mainly on the inside. Some damage to beads.
