Iron box, manufactured in the "Wagner Brothers" factory. Eretz Israel (apparently, Jaffa), [late 19th – early 20th century].
The Wagner brothers, part of one of the important Templar families who settled in Eretz Israel, established their factory for casting and manufacturing metal products in the Walhalla neighborhood (near Neve Tzedek) in 1890. Their factory pioneered in the field of machinery and specialized in casting metals and iron crafting. Impressed on this box is the inscription "Gebr. Wagner Haifa-Syrien" [Wagner Brothers, Haifa-Syria]; possibly used for storage or for transporting bottles.
Width: 43.5 cm. length: 29 cm. height: 12 cm (not including handles). Fair-poor condition.
