Machzor following Roman rite, Parts I and II, with laws and additions by R. Avraham Yedidia Basilea. Mantua: Isaac Yareh and Jacob Haver Tov, [1718-1719]. Two parts in one volume. Divisional title pages.
Dozens of glosses in Italian script (some trimmed), containing textual corrections, additions and commentaries. A note on leaf 2 states that the glosses consist of selections from an old machzor of early cantors in the Mantua great synagogue. Additional inscriptions on verso of title page.
Two parts in one volume: [1], 117; 92, [2] leaves. 31.5 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains, including dampstains and wax stains. Wear and creases. Tears, including open tears to title page and other leaves, affecting text, repaired with paper. Early, gilt-decorated leather binding, repaired. Defects to binding.
Leaf with proofreader's foreword is bound here at end of part II, instead of at beginning of part I.
