Three letters from Rabbi Ovadia Yosef to Rabbi Moshe Maimon Av Bet Din Kiryat Ata. Two letters in his handwriting: Letter of approval to Rabbi Maimon’s book “Lev Tov”, and a letter attached to it in which Rabbi Ovadia writes, among other matters, that he is flying to Iran, and that he will contact him on his return. Jerusalem, 1976. * Harsh letter against Rabbi Shlomo Goren in which Rabbi Ovadia writes: "In the next world, the true world, after one hundred and twenty years, they will announce, See what is between my son and my father-in-law! Where is place of Ploni who followed Goren? And here is place Ploni who went with the Rishon LeZion? The righteous will go with them and the sinners will fall with them...” [Rabbi Goren served with Rabbi Ovadia as Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi and in fact controlled the Chief Rabbinate Council. There was much tension between them and an ideological dispute in connection with several halachic decisions. This tension is also reflected in this letter]. (Typed letter signed in his handwriting).
* Original official envelope is attached, on which is the name and address of the addressee in Rabbi Ovadia’s handwriting.
3 letters, on official stationary. 21-23 cm. Good condition, fold marks, tears in the envelope.
