The book was published in Vienna in 1938. On the cover is a handwritten dedication by the author, in Hebrew, from 1937.
Josef Kastein (1890-1946), German-Jewish writer, biographer, historian, poet and reporter active in Germany and Palestine, an attorney by profession. Born in Bremen, Germany, immigrated to Palestine in 1934 following the Nazi rise to power. Died of tuberculosis in Haifa in 1946.
288 pp. typewritten and placed in simple cardboard portfolio, 31 cm. Good-fair condition. Torn title page, with open tears. Wear to leaf margins. Some foxing. Cardboard portfolio worn, torn and stained.
