R. Yehonatan Eybeschutz (1694–1764), leading halachic authority of Ashkenazi Jewry in his times. Rabbi, kabbalist, yeshiva dean, preacher and author of halachic works, especially known for his Kreiti UPleiti. He served as rabbi of the Three Communities (Hamburg, Altona and Wandsbek).
