Two Rare books of songs printed in Mantova, with impressive illustrations:
1. Yona Bein Chagvei Sela –songs for Hoshana Rabba. Sonnet by Menchem Katzigin. Letter to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Katzigin from the author. [1733?] Printed without title-page.
The letter sent from Wertzili to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Katzigin (rabbi of Caselli and friend of the Rabach, d. 1681] is signed by Rabbi S.C.Y. Shmuel Chaim Yitzchaki (List of contrived names, no. 304. According to MB CD, his true name is S.C. Yarak). See enclosed material.
Last page bears signature of Menashe Yisrael ---.
2. Pitzchu Renenu VeZameru – songs for Hoshana Rabba. Sonnet by author, as response to song from Menachem Katzigin, printed as "Yona Bein Chagvei Sela". [1733].
[12] pages, [6] leaves. 15.5 cm. Good condition, quality paper with restored damage to edges, new cardboard cover.
Doesn't exactly match information on MB CD, listing 0302208/9 (possibly a page is missing).
Rare, songs do not appear in Otzar HaShira VeHapiyut.
