Sod Hashem – with Sharbit HaZahav, circumcision service with laws and commentaries, by R. David Lida. Vienna, 1896. Originally bound with many blank leaves, to be used by the mohel to record circumcisions. These leaves contain a Pinkas Mohel (register of circumcisions) from Helmetz (Kráľovský Chlmec), handwritten and signed by R. Yoel Ze'ev Wolf Glatstein.
This Pinkas Mohel documents some 300 circumcisions performed by R. Glatstein in Helmetz and the surroundings over the course of forty years, between 1st Kislev 1902 and 20th Menachem Av 1943 (during WWII).
R. Yoel Ze'ev Wolf Glatstein (ca. 1872- Sivan 1944), rabbi of Helmetz and the surrounding villages. A leading Torah scholar of his generation; many contemporary rabbis addressed their halachic queries to him.
