[Brooklyn, New York, Wednesday, 9 Sivan, 1961.] Photograph  of the stage at the joint assembly of the two Orthodox rabbinic organizations in the United States – the Central Rabbinical Congress, headed by Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar, and the Union of Orthodox Rabbis, headed by R. Moshe Feinstein. The assembly for the strengthening of religion and Orthodox Judaism in the United States was held in the large assembly hall in the St. George hotel, Brooklyn, New York, and was attended by hundreds of rabbis, rebbes, yeshiva deans, Orthodox Jewish leaders, and representatives of the United States Orthodox communities, as well as countless laymen. In his address to the assembly, Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar adjured his listeners to carefully check for kosher and holy tefillin and mezuzot when purchasing them.
