Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Stanov (1732-1804), author of VaYe'etar Yitzchak, a tremendous Torah scholar and a strange person, was also renowned for forging many books, some books that he wrote by himself and he attributed them to authors of previous generation, while also forging letters of approbation that were allegedly written for the books by leading rabbis of previous generations. [Some say that he belonged to Mendelson's group of maskilim (Enlightenment Movement) in Berlin]. The translator is his disciple Yoel Brill. Yiddish-Deitsch and Hebrew, page per page.
