An ornate album with thirty-eight photographs and two illustrated portraits of opera singers and theater actors. Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, Prague and other cities in Europe. Mid-end 19th century.
Among the photographs: Photograph of the opera singer Albert Wilhelm Karl Niemann (1831-1917); photographs of the theater actor Christine Wilhelmine "Minna" Planer, (1809-1866); and others.
Names are inscribed in pencil on most of the pages. On verso of some photographs appear dedications in pen and in pencil, some probably handwritten by those photographed.
The album is covered with leather, contemporary, with oval decorations and a decorative metal clasp.
