Original invitation sent by Minhelet HaAm (People's Administration – the executive body established before the Israeli Declaration of Independence to manage the Jewish Yishuv and the war) exclusively to its members, journalists and persons of note: "We are honored to send you herewith an invitation to the Declaration of Independence ceremony which will take place on Friday… 4 pm in the Museum hall… we ask you to keep the contents of this invitation and the date secret…". the invitation concludes with instructions: "personal invitation – Dress: dark festive clothes" (Hebrew).
