Passover Haggadah. Kibbutz Gvat, 1953.
Non-traditional Haggadah, accompanied by illustrations (mimeographed typescript).
The Haggadah is divided into four sections: "Spring", Redemption", "Immigration" and "Creation". Alongside passages from the Haggadah, it contains verses from the Song of Songs and passages of poetry and prose. The last section of the Haggadah deals with the hoped-for image of the young state of Israel: "That the State of Israel will be better and more decent is a must! After all, the Jews have suffered greatly from authority, tyrants, rulers, landowners… it is impossible that they will hurry to forget their aversion to power and become themselves power-seekers".
9 pp, 27 cm. Good condition. Stains. Closed tears and small open tears to margins, not affecting the text. Tears repaired with archival tape.
Not in "Haggadot Kibbutziyot" by Nathan Steiner.
