Book of four supercommentaries to Rashi on the Torah: R. Eliyahu Mizrachi, Gur Aryeh by the Maharal of Prague, Levush HaOrah by R. Mordechai Jaffe, Siftei Chachamim HaShalem by R. Shabtai Meshorer. Warsaw: Abraham Bomberg and Isaac Rother, 1862-1864. Five parts in one volume (with divisional title pages). Map of Eretz Israel on verso of Bamidbar title page.
Important ownership: Stamps (in Rashi script) of Rebbe David Bornsztain of Sochatchov (1876-1942; perished in the Holocaust), third rebbe of Sochatchov, son of the Shem MiShmuel son of the Avnei Nezer of Sochatchov. Served as rabbi of Wyszogród (where he established a yeshiva), Tomashov and Zgierz.
At the top of the first title page, ownership inscription signed by his relative R. Moshe Yerucham Morgenstern of Kotsk, grandson of Rebbe Mendel the Seraf of Kotsk, and nephew of the Avnei Nezer.
[2], 127 leaves; [1], 35, 34-86, [1] leaves; [3], 3-49, 86-98 leaves; [1], 2-9, 24-57, 57-61 leaves; [1], 6, [1], 7-51 leaves. Lacking leaves 50-85 of Vayikra. Bound instead are leaves 10-23 of Bamidbar (bound out of place). 30 cm. Overall good condition. Stains. Wear and some tears. Stamps. New binding.
