Meir Ariel – Original Charcoal Drawing

Opening: $500
Unsold
Meir Ariel (1942-1999), original drawing, charcoal on paper, [mid 1990s]. Original charcoal drawing in black and grey, for Ariel's fifth album "Charcoal Drawings", produced in 1995 by "Ariel Productions". This drawing was probably supposed to appear on the cover of the album but eventually was replaced by a similar drawing in which the portrait is of a man with thick lips, smiling. In the upper part of the drawing is the title "Rishumei Pecham" (Charcoal Drawings) in square letters, and in the lower part a signature, "Meir Ariel".
Meir Ariel's fifth album, "Rishumei Pecham", is a complex and personal concept album that conveys a very gloomy atmosphere, expressing the futility of man versus nature, together with a protest against the capitalist race and technological enslavement. Leaf, 30 cm. Very good condition. A few charcoal smears.
