Manuscript on matters of slaughtering, by “The Rabbi of Shazar” – Rabbi Shlomo Zarka, containing responsa on matters of slaughtering, Treifiyut Ha’eivarim composition by Rabbi Levi Ben Elid [among the Rishonim of the end of the second century], alongside brief responsa on matters of slaughtering, commentary on Avot Hatreifot, Shochtei HaYeladim Pamphlet by Rabbi Yisrael Najara.
Part, but not all of the manuscript was printed in the book of Rabbi Shlomo Zarka, Zivchei Tru’ah – Livorno, 1867, since he lost the original manuscript. This manuscript is a handwritten Yemenite copy of the pamphlet which the author lost [which also includes the passages which do not appear in the printed edition].
Rabbi Shlomo Zarka (passed away in 1876, Otzar HaRabbanim 18436) was a genius and author, among the scholars of Algeria. For additional information related to him see attached material.
