Long letter (9 pages) regarding halachic issue pertaining to permit of one hundred rabbis, in handwriting and signature of Rabbi Chaim Zussman HaCohen Av Beit Din of Manchester, to the Ga’on Rabbi Shmuel Salant. Manchester, Shvat 1889.
The Ga’on Rabbi Chaim Zussman (Ze’ev) HaCohen (passed away in approximately 1909), son-in-law of Ga’on Rabbi Ya’akov Rabinowitz Av Beit Din of Volkobichek and Dayan in London. Served as Av Beit Din of Manchester, and following demise of his father-in-law relocated to London and succeeded him as Dayan in Beit Din of Rabbi Natan Adler author of Netina LaGer, chief rabbi of London. His Torah Chidushim were published in several books: Torah MeTzion collection; Daltei Teshuva, Pesach Haggadah of Speiers. This response as well as responses by Rabbi Shmuel Salant were printed in Sefer Torat Rabbi Shmuel Salant. (Jerusalem, 1998), section II, chapter 103, from page 320.
