Two letters from the Ga'on Rabbi Ben-Zion of Bielsk and two letters from his sons in law, Rabbi Moshe Aharon Bengis and Rabbi [Yitzchak Chaim?]. Bielsk, 1895-1902.
In a letter of 1898, written during Chol Ha-Moed Pesach[!], Rabbi Ben Zion writes about a public polemic concerning slaughters out of Bielsk, whether the previous rabbi [Rabbi Aryeh Leib Levine author of "Yefe Einayim"] has forbidden them or not. In the letter of 1902, Rabbi Ben-Zion asks to summon a book editor who will assist him in editing his book for printing.
The Ga'on Rabbi Ben Zion Sternfeld Av-Beit-Din of Bielsk (1835-1914, Otzar Ha-Rabanim 3943), a leading Rabbi in Lithuania, served as rabbi in Poland and Lithuania. Friend of "Chafetz Chaim" and teacher of Rabbi Itzal'e of Ponevezh.
Author of Sha'arei Zion book of responsum I-II (Pietrekov, 1903) and part III, printed after his death (Pietrekov, 1932).
