Four leaves from the first, rare edition of Likutei Tefillot, from the first part printed in the home of R. Natan Sternhartz (Moharnat), disciple of R. Nachman of Breslov. [Breslov: R. Natan Sternhartz, 1822].

The present item comprises the title page (torn and lacking), with the three leaves of foreword which follow.
These leaves are very rare and are lacking in the NLI copies.
Likutei Tefillot was secretly printed in the home of R. Natan, in the midst of the persecutions against him and against Breslov Chassidim. The printing of part I began in 1822 and was completed in 1824. The printing of part II began at that time, but was interrupted due to the closure of R. Natan's press by the authorities. Only in 1827 did R. Natan complete the printing of the second part (see following item).

[4] leaves. 16 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains and wear. Open tears to title page, affecting text, repaired with paper. Inscriptions. Stamps of Nachman Yisrael HaKohen Mariasin (disciple of R. Hillel of Paritch and associate of Rebbe Rashab of Lubavitch).
