Kehunat Avraham, poetic commentary to the first book of Tehillim. With Eleh Bnei Ketura – The Song of Creation in rhyming verses, by R. Avraham son of Shabtai HaKohen of Zante (Zakynthos). Venice, [1719].
Two parts, part I and part VI out of a six-part book.
A portrait of the author, "Avraham HaKohen the physician and philosopher, in 1719 at 47 years of age", appears at the beginning of vol. I. Preceding it is an illustrated title page, with the image of King David and additional figures, including the other poets mentioned in Tehillim: Eitan, Asaf, Heiman and Yedutun.
The book was originally printed in six parts with separate title pages, containing rhyming commentary to all five books of Tehillim, with a sixth part of the Song of Creation. This copy was originally bound as six volumes, of which we have only two volumes.
Two volumes: [2], 8, 49 leaves; 52-64 leaves. 19 cm. High-quality paper. Good condition. Stains. Minor marginal worming to the first leaves of vol. I. Original bindings, with marbled paper and leather spines, slightly worn.
