This is one from a series of a hundred plates showing late-seventeenth century costumes of a wide range of social classes representing various nationalities, mostly set in their own country, published as a book. The original edition was published by Christoph Weigel, Nuremberg, 1703. This engraving was probably torn out from a book, and it is not possible to know from which edition.
