The publisher of this book, Rebbe Eliezer Yerucham Baron of Kraków (1830-1885/1892) was the grandson of the author and son-in-law of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. At the time of the printing of this book, he was childless, and in his foreword to this book, he writes of his hopes that through publishing this book, he would merit to have children. Indeed, a son was born to him ca. 1874, Rebbe Menachem Mendel, who later published the second edition of this book, in 1897.
