Death Fugue, Ten Etchings, Zvi Lachman. Ra'anana: "Even Hoshen", 2005.

Consists of two volumes: the first volume presents a translation into Hebrew of the monumental poem by Paul Celan "Death Fugue" (as well as the origin in German and a translation into English) and an essay about Zvi Lachman's etchings by John Felstiner (in Hebrew and in English). The second volume presents ten original aquatint etchings by Zvi Lachman (printed on 270-gram Arches paper by Sidon Rotenberg in the Jerusalem Print Workshop), in a remarkable leather binding created by the binding-artist Ido Agassi. 25 numbered and signed copies were printed, out of which 1-18 were for sale. Presented here is copy no. 3 (H.C.), which was not for sale. All of the etchings and the colophon in the first volume are signed, numbered and dated by Zvi Lachman. Both volumes are kept in a fine pouch, matching, 33 cm. Very good condition.
