Three photographs by Boris Carmi depicting Yoav Fort (Iraq Suwaydan police fort) after its occupation by IDF soldiers in the Independence War. November 1948.
Two of the photographs show Egyptian soldiers at time of surrender with the Tegart building in the background (one photograph is titled on the back: "Prisoners in Iraq Suwaydan, 1948"). The third photograph shows an IDF soldier laying Tefillin next to a machine gun post, after the occupation of the fort.
One photograph is signed by Carmi, by hand, and one is signed in the plate, in initials.
Two approx. 28.5X28.5 cm photographs, one 40X30 cm photograph. Good condition. Stains on one photograph (on the back and on margins). Adhesive tape strips on the back of two photographs (at margins).
