Author: the Ga’on Rabbi Avraham David Lavut (1815-1890), disciple of the Tzemach Tzedek and among the greatest rabbis and Hassidim of Chabad. Served in the rabbinate for forty years in the city of Nikolayev. Author of the books Sha’ar HaKolel on the composition of Admor HaZaken, Kav VeNaki and Beit Aharon Vehosafot.
His granddaughter, Rabbanit Chana Schneerson, mother of the Rabbi of Lubavitz, edited the books of his grandfather, published them under Kehot Publications and wrote his biography in the introduction. See attached material.
