Bookplates and a printing block designed by Errell (Richard Levy), placed in a box. Jerusalem, 1949.
A collection of about 130 bookplates with the writing "Sifre Yona Berger" including the block used for printing them, in a wooden box covered with red paper. On the inner side of the box cover appears the artist's signature in print – "Errell, 15.1.49" and the inscription: "Bindery of the Government Printer".
Errell, Richard Levy (1899-1992), was the consultant for graphic matters to the government of Israel when it was established, and designed numerous official emblems.
Bookplate: 15X11 cm. Box: 26X12.5X6 cm. Good overall condition. Some damages and wear to box. Stains to bookplates.
