Leaf 304/1 contains stamp of Rabbi"Yosef Shmuel¦ Landau" - The Ga'on Rabbi Yosef Shmuel Landau (1800-1837), son of Rabbi Yisrael Yona Landau who wrote Ma'on HaBrachot, succeeded his father in the Kempna Rabbinate. Author of Kur HaBchina (for additional information related to him see: Personalities in the Chatam Sofer Resposna, pages 395-396). Last leaf contains handwritten notation:"Received this as a gift from the Ga'on¦ [Rabbi] Shmuel Yosef Landau". Number of [cut off] glosses in Italian handwriting.
Rabbi Binyamin ben Rabbi Matitya (1475-1545), rabbi in Arta, Turkey. His rulings involved urgent halachic questions and matters which arose after the Spanish expulsion. This book became one of the most fundamental books in Halacha, and the Halachic masters, including the Rama and the Shach, cite it numerously in their writings.
