Bible with English translation, edited by M. Friedlander. Jerusalem: "Society for the publication of the Bible Yerushalem Ltd.", [1953]. Elaborate binding in "Bezalel" style.
Etched silver, filigree, granulation; gems. Marked: "Bezalel", St. 925, Hand Made, Israel.
On the front binding is a window with a filigree bar, topped with a small opening with a gemstone set in it, and in its center is a medallion showing Moses carrying the Tablets of the Law. Curving vine twigs and clusters of grapes are etched all around. Titles on the spine: "Torah Nevi'im Ketuvim" (Hebrew) and "The Holy Bible"; on the back binding appear the symbols of the Twelve Tribes. The binding is locked with a clasp etched with the image of a palm tree.
11.5X14X6.5 cm. Good condition. Bends. Minute break. Damage to the hinge of the clasp. Stains to margins of leaves.
